Our Agency:
Westside Tutoring Agency was founded in 1997 by Roozy J. Saviss, its current owner and operator, while he was an undergraduate at University of California, Los Angeles. From as early as high school, when he worked as a part time peer tutor at various inner-city youth programs, Roozy realized that he had a profound passion for helping and mentoring children. A few years later, in response to an overwhelming demand for truly dedicated tutors, Roozy officially founded Westside Tutoring Agency. His goal was to establish the first full-service boutique tutoring company dedicated to providing academic services with a distinct personal touch. Today, after more than ten years in operation and hundreds of students served, Westside Tutoring Agency continues to provide all of its clients with a full array of educational services, including tutoring, teaching, consulting, psychological counseling, standardized test preparation and college counseling. The agency utilizes a highly effective individualized and targeted approach that focuses on each student's specific needs. Even with a large client base and a staff of more than forty tutors, teachers and counselors, Roozy still insists on running the company like a small business—with a very high level of personal service and dedication. He personally conducts all initial client interviews and he continues to fulfill his passion of mentoring children by personally tutoring a handful of students on a part time basis. In addition to a strong emphasis on academics, Roozy brings an unparalleled level of class and worldliness to the agency. He speaks three languages and he has traveled extensively around the world. Roozy has held numerous positions in the field of education. He is a former math teacher and he has also served as a director at the American English Academy in Los Angeles. Roozy holds two Bachelor's degrees from UCLA, in Physiology and Classical Civilization, and a Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. In addition to overseeing the day to day operations of the agency, Roozy is also an attorney and he is currently practicing law in California and before the United States District Court for the Central District.
Our Mission:
The primary mission of our company has always been to provide our students with a comprehensive list of supplemental academic services. Our goal is to help our students achieve their fullest academic potential by offering a professional, convenient and comprehensive one-on-one educational service in a myriad of fields. From our inception, the main driving force for our company has been and continues to be our passion and dedication to the success of our students.
Our Students:
We offer services for all ages, from Kindergarten through twelfth grade, for college students and for adults who wish to improve their basic skills. While we specialize in working with students that have various forms of dyslexia, ADD/ADHD or other auditory/verbal learning disabilities, we also help more skilled students accelerate their current performance levels. In addition, we are deeply familiar with the curricula of all primary and secondary schools in the Los Angeles area, including both public and private schools.
Our Staff:
As a provider of children's services, we carefully select our diverse team of teachers, tutors and counselors for their professional expertise and commitment to excellence. All of our educators and counselors have passed a thorough screening and are highly energetic. They have prior professional experience in related fields with specific age groups. More importantly however, in addition to their academic expertise, they also have the requisite social and interpersonal skills necessary to make meaningful connections with students of all ages and backgrounds.
